I built the brand identity for the world’s first genetically engineered probiotic from the ground up, turning complex biotechnology into a transparent consumer product.

ZBiotics isn't just a drink; it is a scientific breakthrough. It is the first genetically engineered probiotic designed to break down acetaldehyde, the toxic byproduct of alcohol. The challenge was twofold. First, we had to navigate the stigma around "GMOs." Second, we had to differentiate the product from the "hangover cure" market which is often filled with snake oil and false promises. We needed a brand that felt clinical yet human.

We crafted a brand anchored in radical transparency. Instead of hiding the science, we celebrated it. I developed a visual language that utilized beautiful photography of the microscopic world to elevate the organism itself. The packaging is strictly black and white, a deliberate minimalist choice to cut through the noise and signal purity. By stripping away the excess, we created a brand that exudes scientific authority and successfully launched the company through Y Combinator and a record breaking Indiegogo campaign.
